Asia Gathering in Hong Kong: Holy Array • July 2-6, 2013
Words fall far short in describing the beauty, splendor, and awe of what we witnessed in Hong Kong. Over Twenty thousand passionate Chinese worshipers, along with representatives from thirty-six nations, celebrated in the awe of HIS presence. Each session kept unfolding leaving us in awe and wonder. Truly He is bringing His body into a Holy Array!
Hours before each meeting, the Chinese lined up and waited to get into the arena, rushing in the moment the doors opened. When the arena holding 15,000 was full, the others had to go to two overflow rooms, each holding 3,000, and soon they were each filled. If our international seats were not filled by 15 minutes past staring time, the Chinese were allowed to claim them, and claim them they did.
When the worship began, as many as possible would leave their seats and cascade down the aisles, running to the altar. Perhaps over 500 crowded into a small space and worshiped passionately for hours. From the front to the rear of the arena and in the overflow rooms, everyone was totally engaged. Many times the worship broke into spontaneous prophetic song and declarations. Sometimes this continued on for hours without letup and with every one being fully involved. The joint French Canadian and Chinese dance team enhanced the worship with anointed heaven inspired prophetic dance.
At one meeting, representatives from the eight nations who exploited and oppressed the Chinese during the Opium Wars and the Boxer rebellion repented and asked the Chinese for forgiveness. They also repented for westernizing the Gospel, which caused much suffering to many Chinese Christians and caused the gospel to be seen simply as a Western cultural invasion.
The Chinese then also repented for the martyrdom of many western missionaries who gave their lives for the Gospel. A delegation from Japan repented for the much suffering Japan has inflicted upon the people of China.
As a large delegation from Japan, Korea, Malaysia and other Asian nations came, it became clear that this is the time for the Asian nations to come into alignment for the Lord’s end time purposes.
One afternoon twelve China church leaders shared about how their lives were changed by the first Gathering in China. They were swept out of positions and formality with the love and honor expressed in a way that they had never experienced. They had lived in formality and structure, but here were suddenly confronted with love and honor as a family. The senior leaders broke down when they were suddenly addressed as fathers. They had never even touched each other before, but ended up embracing each other. The leaders of the five major house churches representing 60 million declared they are now one family! Their lives were changed, and the church life has been changed, as people begin to relate to each other with love and honor from their hearts rather than according to knowledge and understanding.
It became recognized that Korea has invested much in prayer for China, and this needed to be acknowledged. This acknowledgement was an emotional time as the Koreans then also acknowledged that China now carries an important role in these times, and now they want to walk with China.
This is so significant because it will take the alignment of China and Korea to bring in Japan. Korea also recognized that to bring North and South Korea together requires the combined prayers of China, Japan and Korea. This evoked an outcry of passionate prayer from 22,000 prayer warriors. “Lord recover both North and South Korea and join us together as one family”
When the song was sung, “China will you love the Lord forever?” the response, “We will, we will!” echoed not only in the auditoriums, and not only shook the rafters, but sealed a kingdom advance in the heavens!
This report just touches a few of the many highlights. And behind all this were several hundred intercessors who gave countless hours behind the platform. Many traveled from abroad but never got to enjoy the big meetings. No doubt the great impact of this Gathering is the fruit of their selfless hours of intercessory prayer, combined with the prayer of many back at home.
